At UMR, Vice Chancellor Neuhauser and her faculty are in the midst of an ambitious endeavor to empower more students to achieve high academic goals. Faculty from various disciplines working as a single academic unit, the Center for Learning Innovation, are committed to developing integrated curricula, working closely with colleagues from other fields, and developing the most effective teaching methods.

During the 2012-2013 academic year, Dr. Ann Hill Duin will be a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota Rochester's Center for Learning Innovation. Dr. Duin is a professor in the Department of Writing Studies, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where her research focuses on shared leadership and the impact of digital technologies on communication and collaboration. Having pioneered the University’s first online course, she continues to teach hybrid and online courses on information design and looks forward to investigating connectivist MOOCs as a collaborative platform.
