The Bachelor of Science in Health Professions is an educational collaboration between the University of Minnesota Rochester and Mayo School of Health Sciences.
Growth in the radiography occupation will be due in part to an increasing number of older people. This population is more likely to become ill or injured. Thus, they will require more medical testing. In addition, diagnostic imaging is increasingly being used to not only diagnose illness, but to also monitor treatment.
Many new jobs will be created at hospitals. However, employment will grow most rapidly in medical offices, clinics, and diagnostic imaging centers. These jobs will result from the trend of doing more procedures outside the hospital setting. Those with knowledge of more than one diagnostic imaging procedure will have the best job prospects. Minnesota jobs in radiography are predicted to grow by 26% by the year 2019.

Career mobility for radiographers is excellent. With further education or experience, opportunities exist for advancement in education, management and additional imaging modalities.
On average, radiographers earn an annual salary of $27.47/hour ($57,378/yr) (data from 2011 www.iSEEK.org).
