A critical component of the University of Minnesota Rochester’s success in incorporating and advancing learner-centered, technology-based curriculum into the framework of the BSHS is the Student Laptop Program. The Student Laptop Program provides each student entering the BSHS program with a fully configured laptop that includes software designated to support BSHS courses and their experience as a UMR student. In addition to the latest software needed for BSHS courses, each laptop is supported by UMR’s on-site technical support staff. The cost of the laptop, software, support and training are included as part of the BSHS student’s technology fee.

The University of Minnesota Rochester's laptop program is a unique program that aligns with the school's strategy of creating a mobile, collaborative learning environment for students.  Students will be able to take advantage of this mobile environment from their first day on campus through graduation, with a seamless transition into the business world.
