The primary objective of the Office of Admissions for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) and Bachelor of Science in Health Professions (BSHP) is to meet the enrollment target through recruitment of all student populations, including new first-year, transfer, and non-traditional students, and the processing of admissions applications for undergraduate students to ensure a highly qualified and diverse student body.
The Transfer Specialist is responsible for the recruitment and admission of new transfer undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR). The Specialist will assure high quality service to transfer applicants from recruitment to enrollment by attending recruiting events, communicating with prospective transfer students, application processing, and assisting with the daily operations of the Office of Admissions.
The Transfer Specialist will promote the university through participation at college fairs and community college visits. The position recruits students through individual contact, which includes individual campus visits, e-mail and phone communication. The Transfer Specialist will also assist with the planning and implementation of campus visit days and special group presentations, and provide presentations off campus. The position involves the use of technology in both recruitment and data entry. The Transfer Admission Specialist reports to the Director of Admissions.
