- Understand UMR’s technical configuration and have a familiarity with the distant sites’ technical configuration
- Prior to the class or conference, the support staff will
- Greet instructor and inquire if they have any questions or concerns, and provide orientation to UMR equipment if necessary
- Perform an equipment, audio (working with instructor), battery check
- Check if other classroom materials (e.g., dry erase markers) are available
- During class, the support staff will
- Monitor classes’ progress
- Depending on the technical configuration of the room, operate cameras and other technologies as required
- In case of technical problems, support staff will
- Identify themselves as technical support staff upon entering the classroom
- Determine the nature and scope of the technical problem
- Engage the distant location as necessary
- If problem requires more than a “quick fix” discuss options with instructor and program director
- Communicate any technical problems promptly to originating site
- Report technical problems to umrhelp@umn.edu so that they can be tracked by the ITV/Classroom Support staff
