Storage

File and data storage for all UMR faculty, staff, and students is provided through Active Directory. Active Directory is a centrally provided University resource, and includes departmental and individual file storage, along with the ability for administrators in the UMR IT Support Services to apply critical security updates to Windows computers that have been bound to the AD domain. AD allows UMR IT Services to leverage central resources and prevent duplication of core services such as web, e-mail, file storage systems, and TEL. Active Directory storage is backed up twice daily. Shadow Copy backups for individual files and folders are available for 20-30 days, allowing you to restore data accidentally deleted or edited.
