This agreement pertains to the usage of Lyris by groups across UMR for the purpose of sending out attractively formatted messages to large lists of recipients.
- The content and design of all messages must be approved by a member of the UMR Communications and Public Relations staff prior to being entered into the system.
- The main content of the message should consist of primarily text with simple formatting (bold, italic, etc.). Images may be used sparingly where appropriate.
- All messages must include a standard header and footer, created by the Marketing Editor, which comprises the unit’s name and physical mailing address, UMR logo, and an “opt out” link.
- If a customized message header or footer is requested this will be created by the Marketing Editor.
- The Web/Software Development Group is responsible for managing user accounts, implementing approved message designs in HTML, and providing other technical support where required.
- The end user (e.g. Admissions, Institutional Advancement) is responsible for:
- Composing and sending the messages.
- Ensuring that all content and design has been approved by Communications and Public Relations.
- Maintaining the list of email recipients.
- Ensuring that recipients who “opt out” (unsubscribe) are removed from any master contact lists external to Lyris.
To request training and access to Lyris, please contact the Web & Software Development Group at umrweb@umn.edu.
Questions about the formatting and content of messages should be directed to Sarah Oslund, Director of Communications and Public Relations, soslund@umn.edu.
