The deadline for proposals to participate in the ThinkPad Tablet Pilot was January 3, 2012. Late proposals will not be accepted. Notification of awards are anticipated to be made the first week of the semester.

Call for Proposals

The UMR CLI Technology Advisory Committee is seeking proposals from CLI faculty and Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences students who are interested in piloting the use Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet at UMR. Proposals to participate in the ThinkPad Tablet Pilot should be submitted via the web based form. For CLI faculty, proposals should contain a brief description of how the ThinkPad Tablet will be utilized to foster innovation in teaching, learning, or service. For students, proposal should include how they will be utilized to enhance their and, potentially other students, educational experience at UMR. Proposals are limited to 500 words and will be reviewed by the Technology Advisory Committee.

In completing the proposal form, the proposer should indicate which, if any, ThinkPad Tablet accessories that would also like to receive in addition to the ThinkPad Tablet. Proposals for ThinkPad Tablets are due January 3 and awards will be made the first week of Spring Semester 2012. Students will receive the ThinkPad Tablets for use during Spring Semester, with the option to request to continue to have the device through the end of Fall 2012. Faculty will be assigned the device on a continuing basis. It is anticipated that between five and six systems will be awarded.

Both faculty and students will be asked to submit a brief report to the Technology Advisory Committee on May 1 summarizing their use of the ThinkPad Tablet and plans for future utilization.
