Resizing Images

When adding images to the website, please make sure that they are already sized to fit the page that you are adding them to - they should be no wider than 700 pixels. The following instructions are designed for use on computers with Windows operating systems.

Step 1: Open Microsoft Office Picture Manager to edit the pictures, there are two ways to do this:

  1. From the start menu choose Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools -> Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Step 4: A list of Resizing options will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. There are two main options for resizing an image. The first is to choose a default size from a predefined list. A good all round option is Web – Large (640 x 480 px).

Step 5: More precise resizing can be achieved by using the Custom width x height option. Enter the desired new width and height of the image. A fast way of setting these values is to enter the new longest dimension in both fields and the program will calculate the correct dimensions.
