Non-degree Students
You are a non-degree student if you are not officially admitted into a University of Minnesota degree program for the semester(s) that you are enrolled in classes. Non-degree status includes those students who are admitted for a future semester and students who are degree-seeking at another institution, but taking classes at the University of Minnesota Rochester.
Step 1: Determine the course(s) you are interested in
- You will find courses offered for the current and upcoming semesters on the class search
- Ensure you meet the course prerequisites, which can be found on the Rochester catalog site
- UMR is a laptop campus. Non-degree-seeking students must provide their own. Most laptops less than 2 years old will meet UMR's requirements. Students are responsible for installing software. If you are unsure if your laptop will be sufficient please contact UMR Laptop Program Support Manager Jeff Sickle
- Note: Non-degree-seeking students are not eligible for financial aid. If you have questions please contact UMR One Stop at (507)-258-8457 or stuserv@r.umn.edu
