Student Health Services

Cost: Included in UMR Student Services Fee. NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE to students.

Times: 8am -5pm Monday-Friday. Call 507-292-7250 for hours.

Location: OMC Skyway Clinic, 2nd Floor of 318 Commons

 

UMR Student Health Services is FREE to all students who have paid the UMR Student Servies Fee (SSF).. You must show your valid UMR ID when you arrive for your appointment.

Schedule

If you have not be assessed the SSF this semester, you may either be seen as an OMC patient ($49 charge per visit) or you may opt in to the SSF ($168 per semester) which will be charged to your student account.

Appointments

Students can sign up for a 30 minute appointment between 8-9am, Monday through Friday. These appointments are available only to UMR students and advance appointments are strongly encouraged, especially for Gynecological services or other complex issues. Schedule your appointment here. When scheduling an appointment please not the reason for the appointment in the "description" box.

Walk-in visits are available each weekday from 9am-5pm, for both UMR Students and the general public.

UMR Students must show a valid student ID Card (UCard) upon arrival in order to ensure access to all student Health Services and avoid any billing, copays, or charges

Testing and Treatment

  • Acne
  • Allergies
  • Blood Pressure Screening
  • Bladder/Urinary Tract Infections
  • Bruises
  • Colds
  • Coughs
  • Runny Noses
  • Cold Sores
  • Ear Aches and Infections
  • Flu Symptoms
  • Insect Bites/ Stings
  • Minor Burns and Rashes
  • Minor Sunburn
  • Mononucleosis
  • Skin Infections
  • Sinus Infections
  • Sore Throat
  • Stitch Removal  

Gynecological Services: Pelvic examinations, pap testing,and screening for vaginal infections

Initial and Brief counseling and Evaluation for Referral: General health, nutrition, smoking, anxiety, birth control counseling, depression counseling

Laboratory Testing: Rapid strep, dip urinalysis, mono screen, pregnancy, tuberculosis, pap smear, testing for vaginal infections, screenings for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea  

Referral

When necessary, to a primary care provider for preventative health services, or an evaluation of conditions outside the scope of services provided by Student Health Services.

The scope of practice of the Student Health Services clinic will exclude dispensing or prescribing narcotics, such as for chronic pain or insomnia.

Prescriptions

Prescriptions can be written at the Skyway Clinic, but no medications are available on-site. Prescriptions must be filled elsewhere using insurance or out of pocket payment.
