Housing Process

• Units will be assigned on a “first come, first serve” basis for current or incoming students.
• During Housing Signup each student will need to complete a housing contract, housing preference form, and pay a $100 housing deposit cash or check made payable to University of Minnesota.

In Person

There will be an opportunity to sign up for 318 Commons at any upcoming Campus Visit Day and every Orientation and Registration event. Be sure to bring a check or cash for the $100 housing deposit.

Through the Mail

1. Complete the Housing Preference Form
2. Print out and sign the 318 Commons Housing Contract
3. Include $100.00 housing deposit (Checks must be made out to the University of Minnesota). This deposit is a placeholder for your housing assignment, and the deposit will be applied to your student account prior to the first day of classes.
4. Send all documents
   1. Housing Preference Form
   2. Signed 318 Commons Housing Contract
   3. $100.00 deposit cash or check made payable to University of Minnesota
