Applicants who have not already earned a graduate degree or passed the CPA exam should complete the GMAT prior to applying for admission to the M.B.A. program. The GRE may be substituted for the GMAT. Generally, GMAT scores are considered to be valid for a period of five years after completion of the test. The GMAT measures general verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing skills that are developed over a long period of time. It is designed to help graduate schools of business assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. Starting in fall 1997, the GMAT was converted to a computer-adaptive test, which means those completing it must do so using a computer at designated test centers.
