Athletic Training Program

About the Program

This program is offered in collaboration with Winona State University (WSU).

This accelerated program prepares undergraduate students to graduate with both a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) degree from the University of Minnesota Rochester and a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree from Winona State University in five years. Athletic trainers work in a variety of occupational settings to prevent, treat and rehabilitate sports injuries.

The 3+2 Masters in Athletic Training planning guide is an excellent resource to consult as you prepare for this accelerated program. This guide includes detailed information on prerequisites and the application process.

Visit the WSU Masters in Athletic Training website to learn more details about the program, costs and career opportunities. Note that this link takes you to information about the 2-year program since this is the program that UMR students would enter (the 3+2 program mentioned on the WSU website is specific to WSU students). APlease note, UMR students are asked to review the 3+2 Masters in Athletic Training planning guide for details on prerequisites and how to apply.
