Integrated BSHS/MA in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching

About the Program

This 4+1 program is offered in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing.

The Integrated 4+1 MA in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching degree program allows undergraduate students to graduate with both a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Sciences degree from the University of Minnesota Rochester and a Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching (MA-IHWC) degree from the University of Minnesota in five years.

This program prepares graduates to approach health and well-being from a holistic perspective, considering physical, mental and spiritual aspects. Graduates will be well-equipped to engage with communities, applying their knowledge to improve health and well-being. The program aligns with current health trends emphasizing preventative care and well-being, catering to a societal shift towards healthier lifestyles and whole health and prepares students for a variety of related careers. The coursework is offered in a blended format—a combination of on-line curriculum with in-person intensives. Students will be supported by both their UMR student success coach as well as an advisor from the Center for Spirituality and Healing.

Students admitted to this program take graduate courses during their final undergraduate year and complete the MA-IHWC degree by taking the remaining credits as a full-time graduate student the following year.

Visit the Earl E. Bakken Center website to learn more details about the program, application process and deadlines, costs and career opportunities. The IHWC IDP Sample Plan lists the UMR courses that meet the entry requirements.
