"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle
This quote represents the overarching goal of all of the philosophy courses that I teach. My aim is never to get students to adopt a particular position, but rather to develop their willingness and ability to entertain thoughts, and hopefully to find the process entertaining along the way.
My research focuses on philosophical pedagogy and student learning, ethical and epistemological issues in educational research, and ethical and epistemological issues in psychiatric classification and treatment.
