Alison BoscoHow did you hear about UMR/What brought you to UMR?
I moved to Rochester in 2018, my husband came for a neurology research position at Mayo Clinic. While searching for my own job, I discovered there was a University located in town. Previously, working in higher education in Florida, I was excited to find a similar position here at UMR.

What is your role at UMR?
One Stop Counselor

What advice do you have for UMR students during their time here?
To be as involved as possible. You never know what experience can come by volunteering, joining a club or sport. or just hanging out with new people. And have as much fun as possible!

What is one of your favorite things about UMR?
Location! I think it is so great to be located in the heart of Rochester.

What are some small things that make your day better?
Being outside in the sun always makes me feel better. Growing up in the Sunshine State, I love being outside playing with my kiddo and just enjoying the warm sunny weather.

Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
I see my job as a facilitator in helping students get where they want to be.
