The University of Minnesota Rochester celebrated the grand opening of The Hub over Parent & Family Weekend. The Hub is an intentional and centralized resource center for all students that provides access to opportunities outside of the classroom.

Those experiences include:

Early access to these opportunities has proven to set students up for future success upon graduation and employment, helping students develop the mindset, skills and competencies to be informed and engaged citizens. Exposure to these opportunities will also help students experience a wide range of potential future health careers.

"Our philosophy at UMR is that if the evidence shows something helps students succeed, learn deeply and be well -- we want all students to have access to that experience. That's why we are excited to launch The Hub as a central resource for all students," shared Chancellor Carrell.

The Hub is located in University Square 362 near the elevators and across from JustASK.

“When students walk into the Hub, or schedule appointments to meet with Hub staff, we anticipate and guarantee robust support that includes in-depth information on off-campus research, internship, study away, and community engagement experiences, timely preparation to address potential barriers, application support and referrals to relevant campus staff. The Hub hopes to foster an environment for friendships, peer support and community building around these off-campus experiences,” shared Bridget Tettah-Batsa, Director of Community Engagement and Career Development.
