Senator Klobuchar Visits University of Minnesota Rochester

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar visited the University of Minnesota Rochester on Friday, October 18. During her visit, Senator Klobuchar shared her enthusiasm for UMR and the College-in-3 initiative. Klobuchar secured support for the expansion of College-in-3 programs through the annual appropriations process. 

College-in-3 was inspired by increasing workforce demands and a shifting context in higher education to better serve students. UMR piloted a College-in-3 prototype in partnership with Mayo Clinic to address the need for educational innovation as the University works toward empowering students to solve the grand health challenges of the 21st century.

Senator Klobuchar engaged with UMR leadership and local partners including Rochester Mayor Kim Norton and leaders at Mayo Clinic involved with the innovative and collaborative College-in-3 partnership. Students within the College-in-3 program at UMR also shared their experience with Senator Klobuchar.
