Abraham Ayebo Receives Award for Excellence in Academic Unit Service

University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) is proud to announce associate professor Abraham Ayebo as a recipient of the Award for Excellence in Academic Unit Service. 

This annual system-wide award is part of an initiative of the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, in consultation with the Faculty Consultative Committee and the Faculty Senate and recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional service that has strengthened the functioning and climate of the recipient’s unit.

“Abraham Ayebo is that rare colleague who can blend leadership with service. His colleagues and I are deeply grateful for the thoughtful way he approaches his work and for the benefits all of his efforts bring to our students,” shared Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Innovation Paul Hanstedt. 

Ayebo has made significant service contributions to UMR through leadership roles, committee work and advocacy on a system level, strengthening UMR’s mission and impact while also contributing to the broader academic community.
