New Raptor Orientation

Orientation is a critical process in the successful transition of new college students. The University of Minnesota Rochester welcomes and helps support new students in their UMR and Rochester transition by following a community of wellness model which highlights the following key areas:

Orientation and Welcome Leaders

In order to ensure the best transition for new students, UMR relies on key faculty, staff and students to welcome and support new students. Student Orientation and Welcome Leaders (OWLs) are hired to lead new students through the UMR orientation period. OWLs will work in teams of two, along with 318 Commons Resident Assistants and Community Assistants.
