International Student Application Checklist

A complete international admission application includes the items listed below. Applications cannot be reviewed until all of these items are received.

1. Application for Admission
Complete the online application for admission. You will create a username and password that will allow you to work on the application at your own pace. The application will provide us with information necessary to study at the University of Minnesota Rochester. Included in the application is the Financial Certification Statement. This form is required as part of your application materials, but the information provided on the form will not be taken into consideration when making your admission decision.

A $30 USD non-refundable application fee is required; when you have assembled the entire application, you can submit it to us electronically.

Scholarship Deadline:
To be considered for scholarships, applications must be completed by December 1
    
2. English Proficiency Exam Scores
If English is not your native language, you will need to take an English Proficiency exam and have your scores sent to UMR.

3. Submit Transcripts From Previous Institutions
Submit secondary school transcript(s) from each secondary school/high school attended or currently attending. 

If you are currently completing secondary school, send your transcript that includes the courses in progress.

If you have graduated from high school/secondary school, the final school transcript must include grades through the end of the last year in school (equivalent to the 12th year of high school in the U.S.) and the year of graduation. If you were also issued a graduation certificate or leaving examination results, we must also receive a copy of this document.

4. Additional Documents
Passion for Health Care Short Answer Question (Strongly Recommended)
Students who succeed at UMR are passionate about health care. Briefly describe the reason for your passion to pursue a career in health care. This is required for scholarship consideration. 

Teacher Evaluation and/or Letter of Recommendation (Optional)
Letters can be mailed or emailed to us from the recommender themselves only or listed in the online application.
