Registration for Summer STEAM Camps is open! The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) is excited to announce an exciting lineup of summer STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) camp offerings. These camps provide students with several opportunities to experience a week of hands-on, curiosity-driven learning by blending creativity, problem-solving and real-world exploration in a supportive environment.

UMR’s Summer STEAM Camps are designed for students entering grades 3-10 and are offered throughout June and July. Explore this year’s camp offerings that are certain to spark imagination, passion and confidence:

  • Amazing Animal Super Powers — a nature-inspired look at extraordinary biological abilities
  • Build a Game: Tabletop Edition — design and test your own board game
  • Designing Video Games — an introduction to digital storytelling and interactive design
  • Kitchen Chemistry: The Science of Cooking — a flavorful dive into chemical reactions and culinary creativity
  • Radiant Reactions: Where Skincare Meets Science — a hands-on exploration of the chemistry behind everyday products

Each camp runs for one week from June 8-July 17, giving families flexibility to choose one or more sessions that fit their schedule and their child’s interests. Camp activities are led by UMR educators and community experts who prioritize engagement, safety and age-appropriate learning.

Parents can expect a camp experience that encourages students to experiment, collaborate and build confidence-whether they’re discovering how animals adapt, designing a video game world, exploring culinary creativity or mixing safe, science-backed skincare formulas.
