Celebrating UMR’s graduating class of 2026!

Meet Daelyn, a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences graduate taking a gap year to prepare for medical school while diving into research at Mayo Clinic through the CRISP program, working as a PCA and volunteering.

What was your favorite part about your experience at UMR?

One of my favorite parts of my time at UMN Rochester was the genuine connections I formed with the faculty and professors. Their support, mentorship, and willingness to invest in my growth shaped my experience more than anything else.

What are you most looking forward to post-graduation?

The thing I’m looking forward to most after graduation is continuing my work with equine therapy centers, where I get to volunteer with horses and support the people they help. I’m also excited to slow down (just a little bit) and spend more time with my family, friends, and pets, the ones who’ve grounded me through every chapter so far!

What advice would you give incoming students?

College rewards the people who show up with intention—and that means saying yes to opportunities that grow you, not obligations that drain you!
