What’s Next for Mandy Phanthavilay?
Celebrating UMR’s graduating class of 2026!
Meet Mandy, a Bachelor of Science in Health Professions graduate working at Mayo Clinic as an echocardiographer. She plans to attend the American Society of Echocardiography Scientific Session this summer.
What was your favorite part about your experience at UMR?
My favorite part of UMR was the personal development. I have grown so much in my education as well as an individual. I have found myself to be such a new person after spending time in college, and only for the better.
What are you most looking forward to post-graduation?
Having time to travel, start new hobbies like reading and sourdough bread making, as well as spending more time outside.
What advice would you give incoming students?
College is hard. No matter where you go, there is a level of grit that needs to be within you to make it through 4 years. When you feel like giving up, that is your biggest sign to Keep. Pushing. The struggle that is presented to you is a personal test if you have the tenacity for your career, and there is no doubt in my mind that you do.
