Canceled: University of Minnesota Rochester Admitted and Prospective Student Visits

Starting March 16, the University of Minnesota Rochester Office of Admissions is cancelling all prospective student visits and events as a precautionary measure to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 exposure to our University community and prospective students.

Students will be notified via email regarding changes to events or visits, and we will post updates online at r.umn.edu/admissions. We are working on alternate ways for students to learn about the University of Minnesota Rochester and how they can earn a degree in the heart of the medical world.

Our goal is to keep students, families, staff and our community safe. We will keep you informed when we have updates to our visit and event schedule.

After April 1, visits and events will be re-evaluated by leadership within the University. If at that time we are able to re-open our visits and events schedule, that message will be distributed and our schedule will be updated in our visit calendar.

We sincerely appreciate your interest in visiting the University of Minnesota Rochester, as well as your patience and understanding as this situation evolves. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 1-877-280-4699 or applyUMR@r.umn.edu.

Prospective Transfer Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (BSHS) students

Incoming transfer students for the BSHS program - please schedule at least two weeks prior to the day you would like to visit. After scheduling, please send an unofficial transcript to Director of Admissions Brett Hartnagel, bhartnag@r.umn.edu. This will allow us to review your transcripts prior to your visit so that we can discuss transferability of coursework.

Prospective Transfer Bachelor of Science in Health Professions (BSHP) students - Current college students interested in Radiography, Sonography, Echocardiography or Respiratory Care

We invite you to visit UMR to learn more about the Bachelor of Science in Health Professions program, an educational collaboration with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS).

Since the majority of BSHP coursework takes place at MCSHS, we do not offer UMR campus tours to BSHP students. If you would like to visit UMR to discuss transferability of courses and get additional program details, please email the Transfer Admissions, please contact, BSHP Transfer Admissions Representative Cassie Zell at weisx040@r.umn.edu. Please include which BSHP tracks you are interested in, as well as an unofficial copy of your transcripts. Once reviewed, we can schedule your visit to UMR.

For students interested in transferring to the Nursing department, we currently do not offer tours. If you are interested in learning more about the Nursing program, please contact the School of Nursing directly at 507-258-8045.
