Bachelor of Science in Health Professions

The BSHP is a junior admitting program at UMR. Students can complete lower-division (first year - second year) courses at UMR or at another regionally accredited university or college. Students must complete all University of Minnesota liberal education requirements prior to admission.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Professions (BSHP) is an educational collaboration between the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) and Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS).

As part of the BSHP program, students will gain unparalleled experiences at Mayo Clinic, where health professionals address the well-being and treatment needs of patients from around the world each day.

The challenging, high-quality curriculum progressively builds students' expertise while advancing them through the program. Academic coursework is offered at MCSHS and is coordinated with clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic to optimize the learning experience.

For most of the programs, the upper-division curriculum is two years in length and requires a summer session between years three and four. The Radiography program is a year and a half in length, and requires two summer sessions between years two and three, and years three and four. Grades in the required courses must be at least a C-.
