Graduate Program Steering Committee

Because of the institutional complexity of this program with our partners (University of Minnesota, Mayo Clinic, Hormel, NMDP, and IBM), a steering committee serves as the primary communication hub among the institutions. This steering committee consists of at least one representative from the University of Minnesota and BICB partners. Any BICB faculty can submit a nomination for this committee, self-nominations will also be accepted. The co-DGSs will appoint the committee members based on nominations received and input from existing committee members. The representatives from partner institutions on the Steering Committee serve as the primary link to their respective institutions and provide a way for the co-DGSs to communicate with these institutions. Each committee member will serve a term of 5 years and membership may be renewed.

The steering committee meets as needed to: (1) ensure communication among the participating institutions; (2) advise the co-DGSs on strategic planning for the program; and (3) approve new partner institutions.
