The Office of Residential Life provides residents with the facilities and resources they need to succeed personally, academically, and socially. The needs and interests of residents are assessed to implement a first-class, community-centric environment.

Located in the heart of Med City, 318 CommonsResidence at Discovery Square, and Student Life Center are ideal living complexes for emerging medical professionals. The proximity to the University, local medical professionals and in-building classrooms makes housing at the University of Minnesota Rochester one of a kind.

Overview of Residential Life at UMR

Beginning fall 2023, the following changes will go into effect:

    • UMR will have 3 residential buildings: Student Life Center, 318 Commons, Residence at Discovery Square

    • All first and second year students will be required to live on-campus

    • All first-year students will belong to a Living Learning Community (LLC)
