Teaching at UMR
I am committed to making my courses inclusive, accessible, and transparent. From students, I encourage advocacy, resourcefulness, and mindfulness. Together I hope we can engage in mutual accountability and respect that leads to intellectual growth and empowerment for everyone. Through teaching courses like Writing & Research and Disability Narratives, I guide students to become more critical thinkers and effective and ethical communicators.

Research
My research is located at the intersection of Writing Studies and Critical Disability Studies where I explore how to make pedagogical practices more accessible by analyzing students’ perspectives on their learning processes. I also work within the scholarship of Writing Program Administration and Writing Across the Curriculum to guide assessment practices as well as teacher training and development. Through access-oriented teacher research, I aim to promote more effective teaching and learning.
