My UMR with Asmita KC - Student Activities and Residence Life Coordinator

How did you hear about UMR/What brought you to UMR?
The first time I heard about UMR was online through the university’s job posting. The integrated community presence of the university and unique academic curriculum drew me to UMR. I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to join this vibrant community.  

What is your role at UMR?
Student Activities and Residence Life Coordinator. I organize activities catered to students’ well-being and success on campus and manage student clubs and organizations. As a Residence Life Coordinator, I oversee the activities organized by the Community Council of UMR’s residence hall. 

What advice do you have for UMR students during their time here?
Take advantage of opportunities where you can get involved. Join a club, apply for leadership positions, start your own organization, participate in fun activities and challenge yourself to get out of the comfort zone. This is the time to explore your potential and embrace that strength. 

What are some small things that make your day better?
Good coffee, memes and when someone else is playing one of my favorite songs.
