2021 Parent & Family Weekend

Join us for the 2021 Parent & Family Weekend on Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9

This event is intended to bring families together while providing a sneak peek at the UMR student experience.

This year’s event will include music from Luke LeBlanc, a Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter, trolley rides, a comedian juggler and more!

2021 Parent & Family Weekend Schedule of Events:

Friday, October 8

• 4 - 5:30 p.m. Meet & Greet with live music from Luke LeBlanc - The Nest, 318 1st Ave SW Rochester, MN

Saturday, October 9  

• 9 - 10 a.m. Dr. Q, Mayo Clinic neurosurgeon, Q&A - room 417 University Square, 111 S Broadway Rochester, MN
• 10:15 - 10:45 a.m. Welcome session and refreshments - room 417 University Square, 111 S Broadway Rochester, MN
• 11 a.m. Trolley Tour of Rochester - Pick up location: University Square 111 S Broadway
  • There will be two Trolley Tours of Rochester. If you RSVP'd for this, you will receive an email with your designated Trolley Tour of Rochester time.
  • The first tour will begin at 11 a.m.
  • The second tour begins at 12 p.m.
  • Feel free to enjoy lunch before or after. 
• 11 a.m. Trolley ride to Sekapp Orchard - Pick up location: University Square 111 S Broadway
  • Trolley's will depart and pick up every 20 minutes. 
  • The last trolley will leave Sekapp's Orchard at 1:00 p.m.
  • Given high demand for the Sekapp Orchard trolley, you are more than welcome to drive to the orchard, allowing you additional time to explore. The Sekapp Orchard is a short drive from campus. Directions to Sekapp’s.
• 1 p.m. Lunch on your own. Explore downtown Rochester.
• 3:30 p.m. Afternoon Entertainment - Comedian Juggler: Marcus Monroe - room 417 University Square, 111 S Broadway Rochester, MN
• 6:00 p.m. Roller Disco - Peace Plaza, Rochester MN
• 7:05 p.m. Rochester Grizzlie's Hockey Game - Purchase tickets - 21 Elton Hills Dr, Rochester MN
