Chancellor Carrell in Washington D.C.Chancellor Carrell along with Associate Professor Andrew Petzold represented UMR at a College-in-3 convening at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. on March 31. The gathering consisted of a dozen representatives from higher education institutions co-lead by Chancellor Carrell and Robert Zemsky of University of Pennsylvania to discuss improving student successes and lowering the cost of a bachelor’s degree by completing a degree within three years. UMR is among those piloting the idea through the NXT GEN MED program.

While in Washington D.C., Chancellor Carrell also met with U.S. Representative Brad Finstead and staffers from the offices of Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar to share the great work UMR faculty, staff and students are doing at the University of Minnesota Rochester and in the Rochester community.
