Interim President Ettinger Visits the University of Minnesota Rochester

The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) hosted Interim President Jeff Ettinger on Friday, October 6 to share UMR’s focus on student success while providing the opportunity for him to engage with the UMR community. During his visit, Interim President Ettinger was given a comprehensive tour of campus and time to meet and connect with UMR students, campus and local leadership and members of the UMR community. 

UMR also celebrated the grand opening of its inaugural dining facility in the Student Life Center and name unveiling during Interim President Ettinger’s visit. The Perch, the name voted upon by UMR students, faculty and staff, provides a range of delicious and healthy food options while providing a space for connection. This newly renovated space was designed with student experience at the forefront emphasizing community building and well-being. 

President Ettinger held a Q&A session with UMR staff, faculty and Rochester community members where he shared, “I'm really impressed with the vision of UMR to be a key participant in solving the grand health challenges of the 21st century.”
