The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) recently gained approval for an Integrated Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BICB) master’s program. This 4 + 1 program is offered in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Twin Cities College of Science in Engineering, adding to the opportunities in UMR’s Emerging Health Technologies Career Pathway.

The BICB graduate program provides interdisciplinary education in biomedical informatics and computational biology at the interface of quantitative sciences, medicine and biology. This program trains graduate students in the development and application of computational methods to work in interdisciplinary teams of life scientists and computational scientists. To prepare students for the workplace, the program offers industrial and clinical internships and training in business leadership, technology management and ethics.
