Healthy Living Learning Community and Recovery on Campus

Live and learn with health sciences students who share your passion.

A place to belong, a community to call your own.

The Healthy Living Learning Community (HLLC) enhances the success of UMR students seeking healthy lifestyles through providing intentional community development, programming, accountability, belonging and support. HLLC fosters an environment that encourages members to maintain and engage with all dimensions of well-being, leading to academic success, personal development and a sense of community.

The aim of HLLC is to support the success of UMR students seeking to maintain and model a healthy lifestyle who will infuse the health care field with their transformational living, civic engagement and high-integrity leadership.

As a UMR HLLC resident, you will:

    • Discover your strengths, skills, academic success and health care profession options in a supportive and accountable community focused on healthy living.
    • Demonstrate personal integrity as a future health care professional by participating in activities that support your well-being and health.
    • Actively participate in creating a positive living, learning community.
    • Contribute to campus or community life through civic engagement.
    • Thrive as a student, and ultimately, a health care professional by living and learning with fellow students focused on health and well-being.

If interest exceeds capacity, priority will be given to those who indicate interest first. Returning students can reach out to Jenny Casper at jjcasper@r.umn.edu.
