Application Checklist and Timeline
At UMR, we understand the process of applying to and selecting a college can be overwhelming. We hope this checklist will help!
Complete the online application. Your application file, which includes this application and all application required materials, must be complete before a decision can be made.
Pay the application fee. You can pay by credit card via the online application or make check payable to the University of Minnesota Rochester. The non-refundable application fee is $30.
Submit an official score report of your ACT and/or SAT Reasoning scores. The scores need not be sent separately if they appear on your official high school transcript. The University of Minnesota Rochester's ACT code is 2154 and the SAT code is 5877.
Submit official transcripts.
First year students - Must send official high school transcripts. If you have received a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), an official score report is required in addition to any available high school transcripts. Official college transcripts must be submitted for any PSEO and/or CIS work.
Transfer students- Must send official college transcripts for all schools attended. Must also send official final high school transcripts if transferring with less than 30 credits.
We receive official transcripts through Naviance, Docufide/Parchment, Scrip-Safe, National Student Clearinghouse, ETX (Electronic Transcript Exchange) and Transcripts Network. You are also more than welcome to have your institution mail us an official sealed copy.
Passion for health care short answer question (required for scholarship consideration)- Students who succeed at UMR are passionate about health care. Briefly describe the reason for your passion to pursue a career in health care.
Teacher Evaluation and/or letter of recommendation (optional). Letters can be mailed or emailed (email@example.com) to us from the recommender themselves only or listed in the online application. Letters of recommendation are not considered for Health Professions students.
Deadline for first-year students:
Fall Admission Priority Date - December 1 (Applications are still accepted and reviewed after priority date)
Applications must be completed by December 1 for scholarship consideration
Deadline for transfer students:
Fall Admission - February 1st

It's easy to get lost in the sometimes hectic college application process. That's why we've created this helpful timeline to smooth the transition from high school to life at the University of Minnesota Rochester.
Apply for admission to the BSHS program at UMR. (The deadline for priority applicants is December 1, however, applications are still accepted and reviewed after December 1)
Register to take any necessary entrance exams and have your scores sent to UMR at ACT code 2154 and/or SAT code 5877.
Ask for letters of recommendation from reliable contacts who are familiar with your goals and accomplishments.
Research scholarships and other opportunities for financial assistance.
Attend a Campus Visit Day
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid by UMR's priority deadline, March 1. Use UMR School Code 003969. Then watch your e-mail for the resulting Student Aid Report (SAR).
Schedule a campus visit and begin making a list of questions to ask a UMR admissions representative.
Attend a VIP Day for Admitted Students. (Invitations are sent to accepted students in February.) This is a fun day for admitted students to learn more about their classmates, housing, and general information about UMR.
After graduation, request for your final high school transcript to be sent to UMR (including graduation date)
Attend New Raptor Orientation.
Accept financial aid award package.
Attend the UMR Welcome Experience.
