New Raptor Orientation

New Raptor Orientation is a critical process in the successful transition of new college students.

The University of Minnesota Rochester welcomes and helps support new students in their UMR and Rochester transition by following a community of wellness model which highlights the following key areas:

Raptor Welcome

Raptor Welcome is an opportunity for new and returning UMR students to participate in fun events the first few weeks of class. These events range from trips to the Minnesota State Fair, movies and dance parties.

Fall 2020 move in dates

  • Bridge Student Move in: August 22, 2020
  • New Student Move in: August 29 and 30, 2020
  • Returning Student Move in: Returning students living in campus apartments will receive further information at the end of July. The anticipated move-in for returning students will occur over Labor Day weekend.
  • Welcome Week: Tuesday, September 1-Monday, September 7
