The University of Minnesota Rochester offers two majors:
Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences
This is a baccalaureate degree program that provides education and training for students interested in health care career programs, graduate education and professional degrees. Students share a common curriculum during the first two to three years while at UMR. The undergraduate experience at UMR inspires and empowers students to solve 21st-century health challenges. Our integrated curriculum provides students with a foundational undergraduate education that allows them to pursue a wide range of careers in the health sciences field.
Students may also pursue the Early Assurance programs in Nursing, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, Occupational Therapy and Respiratory Care.
Bachelor of Science in Health Professions
This degree is an educational collaboration between UMR and Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences offering tracks in Echocardiography, Radiography, Respiratory Care and Sonography. The curriculum has a broad focus and includes rigorous science foundations, liberal education, and prerequisite courses selected to meet the need for deeper academic preparation in health professions.
