Applying for Housing

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience living at 318 Commons. I love how close the classrooms are and how the tutoring centers are right below where I am living. I also love the privacy, while also appreciating the strong sense of community and warmth here.” — Erika, UMR Junior

Campus Residency Requirement

According to research in college student development, students who live on campus are more likely to be involved on campus, meet with faculty and staff, earn better grades and graduate (Pascarella and Terenzini, 2005).

*All incoming students under the age of 20, and who have not completed or transferred 60 or more accepted semester hours of post-secondary education prior to the first day of fall semester classes (UMR calendar) are required to live in University-approved on-campus housing. This policy only applies to students who are considered eligible occupants (see eligible occupant policy).*

For more information on this policy, please refer to the Office of Residential Life Policies and Procedures.
