About the Program
This one-year Capstone experience is offered in collaboration with Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS).
Medical Laboratory Scientists, according to the Mayo Clinic website, "analyze test results and relay them to physicians. They perform complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic and bacteriological tests, requiring significant analytical and independent judgment." Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate from MCSHS which allows them to take the professional certification examination.
Entry into this program is competitive and requires completion of a variety of prerequisite courses, minimum GPA standards and an interview. Review the Medical Laboratory Sciences planning guide to prepare for this accelerated program.
Visit the MCSHS Medical Laboratory Sciences website to learn more details about the program, application process, costs and career opportunities. If you have further questions, contact the program director.
