Explore UMR's Concentration Options

Want to build expertise in an area you care about? At UMR, you can deepen your knowledge by adding a concentration to your major.

A concentration is similar to a minor, but with an important difference:

  • A concentration focuses on a specialized area within or closely related to your major.
  • A minor is a separate area of study that doesn’t have to be related to your major.

UMR offers concentrations in the following areas:

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Biomedical Health

Key details about concentrations:

  • Concentrations are optional.
  • The courses taken in a concentration can be used to fulfill major requirements, while others can fill general education requirements.
