About the Program

BSHP is a junior-admitting program at the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR). Students can complete lower-division (first and second year) courses at UMR or at another regionally accredited university or college. Students must complete all University of Minnesota liberal education requirements prior to admission.

Collaboration with the Mayo Clinic

As part of the BSHP program, students will gain unparalleled experiences at Mayo Clinic, where health professionals address the well-being and treatment needs of patients from around the world each day.

About the Curriculum

The challenging, high-quality curriculum progressively builds students' expertise. Academic coursework is offered at Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MCSHS) and is coordinated with clinical rotations at Mayo Clinic to optimize the learning experience.

For most of the programs, the upper-division curriculum is two years in length and requires a summer session between years three and four. The Radiography program is a year and a half in length, and requires two summer sessions between years two and three, and years three and four. Grades in the required courses must be at least a C-.

Current information about licensure requirements and exam pass rates can be found on the MCSHS program webpages for each program: RadiographySonographyRespiratory Care and Echocardiography.
