Explore Your Health Career Options
The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) approach to academics starts by considering your interests—your passions—then leads you to explore how you’ll get there. You can reach your goal through a Get Forward Faster option (an accelerated or early assurance program) or through UMR’s Health Sciences and Medicine approach that allows you to tailor your interests within six areas of focus.
Six Areas of Focus
The University of Minnesota Rochester will prepare you for your future health career within these areas of focus:
- pre-med and patient care
- research, discovery and cures
- psychology and mental health
- business and leadership
- public health
- health technology
In the first few years at UMR, students share a common curriculum. In their final year, students tailor their experience to individual career/academic goals through their Capstone experience.
