Biography
Teaching at UMR
Because of my background in industrial chemistry, I value clear scientific communication. My goal is to help students develop a deep understanding of chemistry and express it with confidence, enabling effective collaboration across disciplines in their future careers.
What advice do you have for first year students?
My advice is simple but powerful: Always read the instructions. They often contain more important information than you might expect and can save you time and confusion.
Share a bit about your education journey. What did you take away from it?
I received a liberal arts education, studying chemistry and French, which helped me become a well-rounded scientist. My master’s degree prepared me for a career in industry, where I explored various roles and discovered that what I enjoy most about chemistry is using it as a tool for connection. The biggest lesson from my career so far has been that trying new things leads to growth and opens doors to new and rewarding opportunities.
