Teaching at UMR
I am committed to making my courses inclusive, accessible and transparent. I encourage students to be advocates, resourceful and mindful. Together, we aim to build mutual accountability and respect that fosters intellectual growth and empowerment. In courses such as Writing and Research and Disability Narratives, I help students become more critical thinkers and effective, ethical communicators.

Research
My research focuses on the intersection of writing studies and critical disability studies, exploring how to make teaching practices more accessible by analyzing students’ perspectives on learning. I also contribute to scholarship in writing program administration and writing across the curriculum, guiding assessment practices and teacher development. Through access-oriented teacher research, I aim to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
