Choosing UMR was a clear decision for Kaitlyn Woolman ‘23. “I knew that if I didn’t choose UMR, I would be missing out on experiences that couldn’t be replicated elsewhere,” shared Woolman. Those experiences primarily included opportunities to connect with nearby Mayo Clinic. 

During her Capstone experience, she completed a year-long internship at Mayo Clinic in the Nuclear Medicine Technology program that included externships at other Mayo Clinic locations, working alongside techs and doctors and taking boards to become a certified nuclear medicine technologist.

“By having the opportunity to be a part of the Nuclear Medicine Technology program, I was able to secure a job before I even graduated,” shared Woolman. “The transition from student to employee was seamless and felt like there was no change.”

Woolman is currently a nuclear medicine technologist at Mayo Clinic. She serves as an on-call rotator, working in several different areas within the Nuclear Medicine department. She credits Dr. Xavier Prat-Resina, Dr. Cassidy Terrell and her student success coach Jenn Hooke as individuals who greatly impacted her time at UMR along with many hours at JustASK
